Um, I'm not saying that it's the right thing or the wrong thing. It's the criminal justice system, so it works for right now. I'm just wondering how the state expects the guy to pay his fines. Panhandling is good money, but I really don't see how he'd be able to pay off $101 million. At least before he dies, cuz you got to think that at 50 with a 45-month sentence. He'll probably be out in 22 months, so that's almost two years. He'll be 52 when he gets out. That's an old age to start working on paying off a multi-million dollar fine. Unless you know, they make him the CEO of an oil company or something.

Wow. That's kind of sad. It's good to know that the bill-collecting system works though. A whole frickin' penny. So I'm guessing everything else in it was just a form letter. Put a lien on a 1 cent overdue balance? $48 penalty? That's like 4800 times the value of the overdue balance. And she's blind, like she can be at fault for the oversight.
